Reactie op het coalitieakkoord / Response to the coalition agreement

WOinActie is blij met de plannen die de coalitiepartners D66, CDA en VVD hebben gepresenteerd met betrekking tot het wetenschappelijk onderwijs en onderzoek. De desastreuze bezuinigingen worden teruggedraaid, er wordt op termijn gestreefd naar een investering van 3%bbp en de taaltoets anderstalig onderwijs is van tafel. WOinActie voelt zich gesterkt in haar streven naar een adequate financiering van universiteiten en hun werk. Actie voeren werkt!

Nu zullen de plannen concreet vorm moeten gaan krijgen en WOinActie roept betrokkenen dan ook op om samen met faculteiten, departementen en opleidingen e.e.a. verder vorm te geven. De middelen dienen zoveel mogelijk op de werkvloer terecht te komen, in eerste instantie ter verlichting van de werkdruk, want die is door ingezette bezuinigingen en reorganisaties recentelijk vooral toegenomen. Ook dient de gewenste grip op de hoeveelheid buitenlandse studenten te worden ontwikkeld met opleidingen samen.

Voor nu is WOinActie voorzichtig positief. WOinActie dankt alle partners die de afgelopen jaren met ons de strijd hebben gevoerd tegen bezuinigingen, met name AOb, FNV, 0.7 en de LSVb en uiteraard alle collega’s die hebben meegedaan aan de verschillende acties.

 

WOinActie welcomes the plans presented by coalition partners D66, CDA and VVD with regard to scientific education and research. The disastrous cuts will be reversed, the aim is to invest 3% of GDP in the long term, and the language test for foreign-language education has been cancelled. WOinActie feels strengthened in its efforts to secure adequate funding for universities and their work. Taking action works!

Now the plans will have to take concrete shape, and WOinActie is calling on those involved to work with faculties, departments and programmes to further develop the details. The resources should be directed to the workplace as much as possible, primarily to alleviate the workload, which has recently increased due to austerity measures and reorganisations. The desired control over the number of foreign students must also be developed in collaboration with study programmes.

For now, WOinActie is cautiously positive. WOinActie would like to thank all partners who have fought alongside us against budget cuts in recent years, in particular AOb, FNV, 0.7 and the LSVb, and of course all colleagues who have participated in the various actions.
